I find that to make a pourable paste (reckon that's a slurry) of the baking soda before the hit with vinegar makes it cover better. Remember to be careful with boiling water in plastic pipes!! Maybe just hot water....

Thanks so much for your comment, Sally. Those blends sound absolutely delightful! I haven't yet purchased any helichrysum due to its cost, though i've used it in concoctions my mother has made and absolutely love it. What are the benefits of neroli, i'm not as familiar with that one.

I also use me own, homemade facial serum. I have oily, acne prone skin so, instead of almond, I use grape seed oil. I've read that it is a wonderful oil for my skin type. I blend it with jojoba and a small amount of Jasons Vitamin E.

I tend to go with one of two blends that I love. They are costly essential oils and in the case of sandalwood, a dwindling resource, so I use them sparingly.

1) rose, lavender, sandalwood, helichrysum
2) neroli, lemon, sandalwood, helichrysum

I will look into adding calendula as well.

Find out the latin name-- if it genista tinctoria, then yes.
It is hard to know sometimes because common names of plants vary so much regionally. Where are you located? Lots of plants make good yellows--- so there most be something that you have around that is plentiful and easily accessible.
