Spring is getting going and all those sad looking clumps of lavender greenery are sending up little shoots to become blooms: fragrant, medicinal, beautiful, bee attracting blooms! Lavender is drought tolerant, generally deer resistant, gorgeous and useful and thrives in a variety of regions. Coming up this Summer is the Clackamas County Lavender Festival. I hope i can make it, as it sounds like a ton of fun, and worthy of testing out my new camera.
When: Saturday June 30th, 2012 10 am to 5 pm
Sunday July 1st, 2012 10 am to 5 pm
Where: Oregon Lavender Farm
5 miles past Carver off Springwater Road
20949 S. Harris Road, Oregon City, Oregon 97045
Look at all that lavender! The festival is held at Liberty Natural Supply’s lavender garden in Oregon City. I get all my carrier and essential oils from Liberty Natural, but have never seen the place in full bloom. Lavender is such a wonderful herb and flower, and is especially great in soap and other body products because it has soothing aromatherapy properties AND antiseptic/soothing topical properties. I’ve never met a person who doesn’t at least LIKE the smell of lavender.
How about you? Do you love lavender? Will i see you at the festival?
